For Woman magazine I contributed a series of ´Expat Files` on British expatriates working in a range of countries. I contributed eight articles which interviewed couples in Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Slovenia, Norway and Russia. The articles covered a range of issues such as what they miss most, what schooling arrangements they have for their children, whether they plan to return and how the local housing market compares with the UK.

I have been a British expatriate for much of adult life, and have lived and worked in Austria, Germany and now Saudi Arabia. Between 2001-2003 I contributed regularly to the HR section of Expatica. Here I wrote about international HR issues from foreign assignments to cross-border work, relocating pets to securing mental health support when living as an expatriate.

I have written for many different publications within The Telegraph Group media organization. This includes occasional news articles The Sunday Telegraph, The Daily Telegraph and in 2000 its IT supplement, the dotcom Telegraph. I have also wrote regularly for the "Expat Living" section of the international publication, The Weekly Telegraph. These articles covered a wide range of themes from TEFL teachers to expat-led inter-cultural negotiations, from making cheap phone calls abroad.

My first article for The Lancet was written in July 2005. From then to 2013 I had many in-depth 1,400 word feature articles for the medical journal´s World News section. The articles were based around developments in German or European health policy, and covered a wide range of themes from obesity in Europe to the revival of East Germany-style polyclinics, from E-coli outbreaks in Hamburg to tuberculosis photo exhibitions in Berlin.

My first article was published in the Vienna Reporter in 1998. Since then I have done commissioned research or article writing for a range of mainstream and specialist and media organisations.

Mainstream publications and media organisations include BBC Online, The Daily Telegraph, The  Sunday Telegraph, The Catholic Herald, The Daily Mail, The Lancet and Woman magazine.
